So I have a macbook pro mid 2015 and this morning I wake up the laptop and I find it like this:
then after 35 minutes of being on the white fade started to get smaller:
the laptop turn on and everything so I wonder what is going on?? Any ideas?

Go step by step and test.
Use safe mode to try to isolate the cause of the issue.
Once in Safe Mode, click the “Restart” button at the bottom of the screen to exit Safe Mode.
Test.
Reset PRAM: Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support
Reset SMC: How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support Choose the appropriate method.
my 2013 iMac had same problem, waking from sleep. After rebooting to Safe mode 3 times,
it was better and I could read text at the top of the screen. after 20 minutes of use, the white border was gone. I'm reluctant to reboot right away so I'll see how it does in the future.

There is a battery recall program in place for our MacBook Pro Mid-2015 however mine did not qualify based on the serial number and yours may. Check here ➔ 15-inch MacBook Pro Battery Recall Program.

From my experience, a battery that is not working properly can affect the system in different ways.
If the system meets your computing needs now, keep using it until you buy a new Mac.
Thanks but I restarted, updated, resetted SmC and PRAM etc and nothing.
After two hours of the laptop working the white border faded away and now it looks normal.

What is the status of your MacBook Pro Mid-2015? I ask because I had the exact same experience with my MacBook Pro Mid-2015. My experience happened as the computer woke up from sleep. Same thing, about two or so hours later the screen was normal and it has been about 5 days since the incident.
Has this happened to you again since February 01st 2020? I am unable to find many discussions on this and therefore tough to know what to expect. I am using Catalina on my Macbook. Thanks.

Hey! “The ghost in the machine” hasn’t appeared ever since.
But few days ago I had an issue where the laptop screen wouldnt turn on. So the laptop would boot, the touch pad would work, but no image on the screen. I left it again for 2 hours and after that was working fine.
Have no idea what’s going on or if it is even related.

I know mine didn't qualify either, so I actually did replace the battery myself not sure why the diagnostics program is complaining. 🤷🏻♂️ but the battery is new macbook pro battery I bought from iFix It and replaced it in early December 2019.

I thought that the darn thing was soldered to the motherboard in there and that discouraged me from doing it. Under normal circumstances I would have no issues upgrading the SSD drive, which I have, but for some reason thought the battery had a much greater difficulty level of installation.

Well changing the battery wasn’t easy for sure - it took me 3 hours mostly because its stuck with adhesive to the aluminium cover of the laptop and i didn’t want to dismantle the whole thing to change a battery so took some time getting the power cells out.
but generally i don't think the screen ghosting is related to the battery at all since u never changed urs and still got it. 😂
Does anyone has any idea what has caused the issue on my screen? I still have no explanation?
Hey, yes both cases happened waking up the laptop from sleep.
I am using Catalina 10.15.3 (not the new beta version)
