Require Password "immediately" after sleep ... "Immediately" is greyed out - can't change it

Every time I come out of sleep mode I have to login with my MacBook password. I want to change from "immediately" to 4 hours, but it's greyed out and I can't change it. How do I fix that?

Thanks, Mike

Are any of your other preferences blocked— I can see that pane is not active(?)

Verify you do not have a conflict of interest.

Set sleep and wake times for your Mac - Apple Support

 Try a SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache,  etc.  Login and test. Reboot and test will take a little longer as caches get rebuilt.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

To get a good look at your System config. for conflicts or issues, you can run this trusted utility http://etrecheck.com

I ran the etrecheck.app as suggested. It found several IBM security profiles left over from when I was with IBM. They were once required since I used my personal Mac for IBM. Etrecheck allowed me to delete them. I then rebooted, turned off file vault to decrypt everything since I think that conflicted with my trying to change the password settings. I couldn't turn it off before due to the IBM security profiles. After that, rebooting again, I was able to change the password lock after sleep, from immediately to other settings, e.g. 4 hours.

While this is a minor issue trying to change my setting, I was grateful to you for the suggestion on how to discover the conflicts. Perfect solution.
