Slow encryption back up?

Slow encryption back up?

Backup to encrypted 4 terabyte Seagate + via Time Machine.

First time encrypted. second backup.

Seems to be taking a long time to encrypting Backup Disk; After 10 hrs @ 10%.

Is this typical?

Oh yes, I've seen Encryption take up to 2 months on 3-4 TB of data, so you're doing good.

Thanks for the insight. My encryption data estimated size (52.29 GB); going on 13 hrs. @ 18%.

Most likely safe, I've seen them restart several times before it completed, but waiting may be even safer.

By my calculations it should take aprox. another 2 days 19 hrs. to complete encrypting my backup data; I' wait.
