pasting text into numbers with commas to separate data no longer working

I have been pasting lists of vocab into numbers with one word followed by a comma then another word. Until recently pasting into numbers would automatically paste each word into a separate column. Now it pastes word 1, word 2 into a single cell.

What could I have done to disable this feature? It makes it very cumbersome now to create vocab lists.
