iPhone X only playing sound though earpiece speaker

Hi,

I’ve had my iPhone X for a few months now, and recently while playing sound (music, Netflix, YouTube and even keyboard clicks) the sound has (intermittently) only been playing though the earpiece speaker. Sometimes for a short amount of time, sound will come out of the bottom speaker (on the right).

It can sometimes be momentarily fixed by closing the app and then reopening it, but it doesn’t fix the problem for long. Also, a soft reset (volume up, down, hold power button) doesn’t help.

I’m on the newest iOS (13.3.1) as of posting.

if anyone has had this problem and fixed it, or knows what can fix this, please let me know as it’s getting very annoying that my iPhone 6 has louder speakers most of the time!!

Hi John

This is a potentially tricky question to answer it could either be a software or hardware issue I would recommend ruling out the software issue first as its the easiest to do this connect your phone to a pc or mac with iTunes installed and then click restore it will then downlad the latest IOS version and then flash it to your device if problem still persists it will be a hardware issue to get this resolved you can take it to the apple store and they will take a look for you

Better take iPhone X to Apple Store, or Authorized Apple Service Provider to have it check out. Might be hardware issues or something else.
