Airport Express drop out problem

Hi
Just managed to set up A.E for streaming itunes only but keeps dropping off for approx 2 seconds intermittently, when i look at system log for A.E in airport utility the following log seems to coincide with the drop offs :- "Connection accepted from [::ffff:192.168.2.68]:" Can anyone shed any light on this, hoping it's an easy fix.
Thanks
Seedy

Since last summer (Snow Leopard, AirPort FW or whatever) I've had irregular drop outs. My set up is a single band Time Capsule (early 2008, draft N wifi) as router and 2 newer APX. I've had drop outs when streaming from both MBP and a Mini, but often when the Time Machine backup starts, as if the TC doesn't have power enough for it all. Often other family members complained about lagging wifi network, apart from the music drop outs. Interference from other networks isn't the problem for me. I've got the TC replaced once, but still with the same problems.

Anyway, a few weeks ago I changed wifi settings on the TC to "G" only, instead of B/G/N, hindering the TC from trying to speed up when there's always some client that's only capabel of running G-speed. This took care of both the drop outs and, oddly enough, the speed problems. So until I'll get a dual band base station or N on all clients I'll stick with the G-speed only. Not as high top speed, but higher average speed - and no drop outs for weeks now! Worth trying?

Hello...
I hadn't had this problem before though setup of the AE can be a nusance!
Recently i dug it out to broadcast Airtunes in the livingroom through the stereo.... easy enough to setup: "join a wireless network", connect to the wireless router (wep key), etc. It worked! Then, the dropouts... hadn't experienced that and every 2s really?? Not funny.
I thought i found the cause: using a program called Sound Studio which aggressively controls the sysytems sound input/output. Thought i had it whipped last night though again today... every 2s!
Then i started closing programs and found the culprit.... Safari. If it is already running when you open or play a song in iTunes the drop outs happen. Explore it... I quit Safari and the dropouts immediately stopped! Then i open Safari and can browse sites as long as i don't pull up my igoogle page.
I'm smiling again. Hope this helps you....
Peace
