The glass back cannot be replaced. The price you were quoted is for an out of warranty replacement. A reduced cost rather than full price, but it is another phone.

Sounds like the cost for a replacement phone. The back glass cannot be repaired.

I think that's the point, the glass can't be repaired so you're buying a new phone. Can you just put the broken phone in a case?
Dont drop your phone, it won't break.
If you do pay for a replacement, I suggest you buy a case.
As far i got to know , it could be replaced.. but 450 euro for that dam back glass cover seems like cost of another cell phone....!!!!
I suppose that is a personal decision, but at some point you will find the glass will continue to deteriorate and splinter off.
i broke my back glass panel.. iphone 11.. apple store says its 450 euro ... thats insane.. looks like back panel is too weak.. Sup i just brought the phone 3 days ago..😭
