Need Help Adding Custom Notification Sounds

I need help with adding a custom sound into my iPhone properly for Sounds and Haptics and making it appear into the proper directory I want it in.

I've read some articles regarding my problem and it usually leads to the same result: I'd take my desired sound clips to use, convert it to AAC and then to M4R, and syncing the sounds to iPhone with iTunes, only to have it appear in the Ringtone directory instead of the Alert Tone directory like I originally wanted.

I'm just looking for tips and insight into adding custom sounds to Alert Tones (notification sounds) into my iPhone, not into ringtones.

TL;DR listed in the attached picture:

Thanks in advance.

If they are appearing in Ringtones, they should appear everywhere. I've not created any custom ringtones in some time, but mine show in all of my tone areas. Have you looked through the entire list? Like New Mail for instance, if I tap on that, it shows Alert Tones, then below it I can see Ringtones, then below that, I see another division of newer tones from iOS updates.
