My phone says it’s a t-mobile carrier but when I put my sim inside the phone it says “sim not supported”, what can I do to fix this issue? Or what am I doing wrong?

Your iPhone is carrier locked, apparently not to T-Mobile. Call AppleCare and give them the model and serial number of your iPhone and tell them you just want to know which carrier your iPhone is locked to. Then contact that carrier and ask them what their unlock policy is and if you qualify.

That is a Verizon/Sprint model iPhone. As I said, contact AppleCare and ask them which of those two providers it is locked to.
Is that all of the message or is it a much longer one?
The message is much longer but in big letters it’s say Sim not supported
The phone itself says it’s T-Mobile so I’m not understanding why my T-Mobile sim wouldn’t work
What do you mean the phone says T-Mobile? Where does it say that?
Where did you get this iPhone and what are the model numbers?
On the about setting where it says carrier it states T-mobile.
