Does Apple call customers about iCloud security?

I just got a call, from 800-559-9**7, supposedly about having some iCloud security issues and to speak to an Apple rep. I need to hit "1". I did not. I hung up.

With masked phone numbers, recordings, etc. I usually write all these calls off as phishing and spam.

Correct?

They are indeed scam calls.

Apple does not make such calls.

All such calls are scams from criminals attempting to steal your personal and financial information. The callers will often use number spoofing to pretend they are calling from a legitimate business. The correct course of action is to hang up on them, repeatedly if needed.
