adding a new phone number to my contact list

When I try to dial the new contact I get a message saying this number has not been assigned. I dont know what that means

Problem dialling number Whenever I try to phone someone from my iphone contact list I get the message “you have dialled an incorrect number “ Even though I know that it is correct. If I manually punch in the numbers on the keypad it works first and every time. Would you know what the problem is? Is it as someone has suggested something to do with Dial Assist? I assume the number you added to your contacts isn't correct. It doesn't exist like it's stored in your contacts.
