XFINITYWIFI Hotspot Apple TV Upgrades

Have there been upgrades to the newer generations of Apple TV that enable users to sign into hotspots that require web browsers like XFINITYWIFI? This question, "How do you connect Apple TV to an xfinity wifi hotspot?" It won't connect because it doesn't ask for a log in like it does on my phone or laptop," was asked previously with the answer that it can't be done, because ATV doesn't have a web browser login. However, I've noticed that it will come up automatically giving you the option to sign in. Unfortunately, it doesn't always come up, and I'm not sure why.  I'm not sure if it comes up just to taunt us or the login will actually work. It is such an advantage for users, because ATV can take up a lot of data. Being able to use these hotspots allows users to free up some of their data usage.
