How do you find a non Apple Device with your email on it?

Why can’t I see any other devices I have with my Apple gmail even though it’s not on an apple product? It still has my email so why not?

iPod, iOS 13

A) a gmail address is not an Apple address. Google is a completely independent company from Apple. Just because you used your gmail email address to make an AppleID, that actual gmail address is not hosted by Apple and has nothing to do with Apple.

B) An appleid can only be used to track an Apple device. And then, only if that AppleID has been used to make an iCloud account and sign into iCLoud on that Apple device.

Apple Find My tracking has nothing to do with your third party email itself. It has to do with your AppleID and the iCLoud account associated with that AppleID. Find My is an iCloud service, not a third party email service.

So while you may use that same email address on other devices for email, you are not using your AppleID tied to that email on those non-Apple devices, nor are you using your iCloud account on those non-Apple devices.
