I keep receiving messages “Your Apple ID Verification code is:......”

I keep receiving this messages like someone is trying to sign in to my apple ID, and then I received a call from ‭00 1 (866) 275-3866‬ ,?! Is this spam?! What should I do in this case? How do I protect my Apple ID and stop receiving these messages? Why is this happening?!

Apple will never call you unless you called them and asked for a call back.

Someone may be trying to sign into your Apple ID. If you have 2 Factor Authentication enabled on your account, they would need access to one of your trusted devices to get a code. You should be okay.
