Multiple Attachments in One Email

I am new to the iPhone. In iPhone Mail (iOS 13) how do you attach more than one attachment in one email? I can get one attachment successfully (not easily$ but going back in and following the same steps does not work. I get to the point of finding the attachment and selecting it, put nothing happens when I select the second attachment. I always have to cancel out of it. That leads me to a second, related question. What is the attachment size limit in iPhone Mail (iOS 13)? Thanks!

Hello, Rolfster8.

I understand you would like to know how to attach more than one file when sending an email using the iOS Mail app. Firstly, welcome to the community and congrats on your first iPhone. I’m excited to help you.

So that we’re sure to be on the same page, I would first advise updating your iPhone to the latest version of iOS. Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Photos are a snap to send multiples of. You can do this from within the Photos app or from Mail.

Add photos and videos
1. In an email, tap gray arrow or Return to open the format bar.
2. Tap the photo and video button , then choose your photos or videos. You’ll see a blue checkmark on each photo or video you selected.

The number of photos and videos you can send depends on your email provider. If you’re unable to send multiple photos or videos, add fewer, then try to send the email again. Contact your email provider if you have questions.

Documents and other files are attached similarly but you can only do one at a time. I tested this on my own device and was able to do more than one without issue.

Add documents from the Files app.
1. In an email, tap < or Return to open the format bar.
2. Tap the file button , then choose the document you want to add from your Files app.

I know you mentioned having an issue when attaching your second file, and size may be a factor. The Apple Support article, Mailbox size and message sending limits in iCloud, has this to say on the subject of file limits, "The size of incoming and outgoing messages (20MB, up to 5GB with Mail Drop turned on)." How to send attachments in Mail on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Mail Drop uploads large attachments to iCloud, where they’re encrypted and stored for up to 30 days. See the Apple Support article Mail Drop limits for Mail Drop limits and system requirements. Recipients can download Mail Drop attachments for 30 days after they’re sent.

Add an email attachment in Mail on iCloud.com

For you reference, I wanted to make sure you had a quick link to the iPhone User Guide.

I hope this helps!

Best Regards.
