It has been my experience most keyboard cases have flimsy plastic edges on the edge of the iPad, and I need something more sturdy that stays closed if dropped and is shockproof. Having a latch on the outside would be ideal. Do you know of anything you have seen on either eBay or Amazon that fits the bill? This is for an iPad Air 2.
Speck makes great cases for iPads that have a completely moulded backcase with hard, strong edges the the iPad snap into.
The hinged top covers on Speck cases have a latch to keep the top cover locked into place.
I have purchased two Speck cases for my Mom’s iPad and they have been very good, rugged and protective cases.

Unfortunately there are very few cases that support that 6-7 year old iPad model. Something that came to mind is the Otterbox Defender however they no longer sell their iPad Air 2 case on their website. You may be able to find one on a website like eBay.
