Apple Watch Series 0 - Screen Has Self-Detached

My Apple Watch was nearing its 4 year birthday when suddenly the screen popped off - dangling by the ribbon cable. I have chatted with support but I have been told to take it and have it mailed off. Most likely it will cost the max $199 repair fee as it is well out of warranty and not a recalled issue.

Earlier in the week I had them test the battery as it lasts about 6 hours. Less than 24 hours later the screen pops off on its own. The battery looks to be intact but I can't help but feel its related.

Has anyone else had this issue? I am not pleased that a $300+ watch breaks in under 4 years and this seriously may prevent me from buying a new Smart Watch again.

It is likely that your screen popped off because the battery expanded enough to push the screen apart from the case. When these batteries become old and well used they will sometimes expand like a balloon. My very old MacBook battery did this too. If you replace the battery and reconnect the screen, it should be pretty good for a while.
