My daughter got an apple watch for xmas 2019 and since she did a software update (about 3 weeks ago), the touchscreen only works when it's on charge, which renders the watch unusable. Can anyone help? Thanks

Thanks, I had already tried forcing a restart several times, and have just tried again - but it hasn't worked. Have also checked DnD and Theatre Mode and neither are on...

Try this;
To force reset your Apple Watch, press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds, then release both buttons when you see the Apple logo.
Also while it's on the charger if the screen works swipe up into the control centre and see if do not disturb or theatre mode is switched on.
unpair and repair the watch and set it up as a new watch when asked,not from a backup.
