Back up to icloud

Why must I be connected to wifi in order to back up my iphone 11. I never use wifi.

Because that is a requirement to backup to icloud.

YOu've never used wifi at all?

After I placed my question, I opened the Cloud Storage App and found that all I needed to do was create an account, registering this phone. Wifi Not Needed.
