Rented movie will not play

I rented the movie The Joker and when I try to play the movie by clicking on it the screen pops up where the movie should play but when I press the play icon the screen remains black and the movie time bar remains at 0:00. Is there something to resolve this issue or can I get a refund? I only have 4 days left on the rental period and haven't had a chance to watch the movie yet.
