What is the current Mac Operating System? is Mojave newer that Catalina?

Typically you are always better off running the most current macOS your machine will allow—especially for the built in security features.

Thank you for the answer. The reason for the question is that I just loaded the 2019 edition of TurboTax and I got a pop-up that said that this is the last year I'll be able to run TurboTax on my iMac (mid 2011 with High Sierra). It said that in 2020 I'll need to use the Mojave operating system to run the 2020 edition of TurboTax.


I guess that means I'll need to buy a new computer, or switch to another tax program that will let me use my current system (if one is out there). Any thoughts? I suppose I could also hire a tax preparer to do them.
