iPhone XS Max discontinuation

Is anyone else upset that iPhone XS Max - Apples most expensive phone was just discontinued without so much of an acceptable rebate by Apple? I had just gotten my phone 7 months prior when they discontinued it but paid for Apple Care 2 year warranty. When I needed a replacement because the phone had stopped working, I was told that there were hardly any left and I would be placed on a waiting list. I was advised to buy a cheap phone to use in the meantime. I mean what good is investing in Apple’s premium phones if this can happen!

Apple, like everyone else, does slowly phase out a model they are replacing to get rid of stock before they release a new one. But Apple has a history of ceasing sales of the previous model and selling the replacement model instead. Other electronics companies do exactly the same thing. Wherever you are going for service may be low in service replacement stock but Apple has them. I don't know where you are or what store you are going to but you might want to contact Apple Customer Service.

Apple keeps stocks of all hardware parts and complete service replacements for at least 5 years from the time the last production occurred. For California (and apparently extended to the other markets) including the rest of the United States they do that for 7 years as required by California state warranty law. The iPhone 7 was discontinued last October, so they should have plenty. Service replacements are a combination of new devices and refurbished ones. Many are trade ins as well as swapped devices that are then fixed up. I can't account for why you didn't have a service replacement available, but Apple will have stocks of iPhone 7 replacements for many years.

I'm not in the lease upset. Apple has the right to discontinue a previous generation iPhone when they introduce a new model. I don't see why you think you are entitled to some rebate from Apple?

And I have a co-worker who got a replacement iPhone 7 just a few weeks ago from Apple, so I don't know why you were told they are hardly available.
