Capital One card unable to add to Apple Pay Wallet

I’ve been back and forth with Apple and Capital one help desk support just to ultimately be told by capital one that it’s a known ongoing issue with no resolution so far. Got as far as to have an Apple Engineer determine the issue is with the PNO-Payment Network Operator (MasterCard) however Capital One states that there is nothing they can do and to just keep trying. Pathetic. I saw another thread here that is having the exact same issue from a couple months ago with 200+ people saying they have the issue too. please any help :(

I can give you a list of things to try but I cannot guarantee it will work. Some of them you can skip because the might not apply.

  1. Check your Apple ID region to make sure it is correct (Change your Apple ID country or region - Apple Support)
  2. Check the region on your device to ensure it is correct (Settings>general>language & region - set to your region)
  3. A passcode is required to use the Wallet app.
  4. You need to be in a region that supports Apple Pay - Countries and regions that support Apple Pay - Apple Support
  5. Your bank needs to support Apple Pay - Apple Pay participating banks - Apple Support
  6. Sometimes if you sign out of your Apple ID and back in it resolves the problem.
  7. If none of these suggestions are able to resolve your issue you can go here for further assistance - If you can't add cards to Wallet for Apple Pay - Apple Support

I understand, I’m just trying to confirm for certain whether or not I’m the only one and if this is a known issue.

I just don’t understand... my old card worked, then I lost it and received this new one in the mail but for some reason this new one won’t work?? I just don’t understand that.

I’ll add additional information for your item 5. Some banks support Apple Pay with some of their card products, but may not with all of their card products. I had a card that my bank would not support in Apple Pay. They offered to switch my account to a different card that would support it.

I completely understand that and have verified that my bank does support my card, however same issue and both parties (Apple and Capital One) just keep blaming the other. I literally had it working for months but lost my card and the exact same replacement card all of a sudden doesn’t work. Very frustrating especially because I just don’t know what to do next? Must I really open up a new account with a different bank?

PS thank you all for the generous support and advice I must say you guys are very kind and it’s noticeable compared to many other support forums. You carry Apple’s professionalisms well!
