i don't want my birthday to show on my iPhone

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I understand you do not want your birthday to appear in Settings on your iPhone. Keeping your information secure is especially important.

The birthday is required for your Apple ID to enable specific features for your iPhone. For more details on this, check out:

Another option is to create a passcode on your iPhone, which will ensure no one is able to access or see your birthday:

Open the Contacts App.

Find the info your yourself.

Tap that contact entry.

Tap Edit in the top corner.

Delete, or add whichever info you wish.

When finished, tap Done.

If you put a passcode on the phone and don't hand it to people when it's unlocked, they can't see anything at all.

The only way to remove that would be to remove your iCloud account from the iPhone.

I make it a habit when out in public to always put the phone in my pocket if I'm going to move away from a table, etc. or if I step away I push the side button to lock it. That should solve your issue.

The birthday displayed there is the one associated with your Apple ID. It is the one referred to in the “birth date associated with your Apple ID” article Starr.C referenced.

As you suggested, I won’t say “don’t hand it to people”. But what I will say is:

If you’re going to keep your iPhone laying around, be certain it’s passcode locked while you do so.

But there are many other nefarious things people can do with an unlocked iPhone besides get your date of birth, nor is that the easiest place to get your date of birth.

Have you tried simply editing your contact record to remove the birthday?'

That works just fine for me...
