icloud

I have just upgraded my icloud storage and wish to move some files of photos from my macbook pro to it..however I do not have the photos app and I can't locate icloud drive, been looking up guides on the web for the last 2 hours and following instructions but it still isnt working, can anyone help?

You should have the Photos app. Look in your Applications folder. And, where are your photos stored on your Mac? What do you see when you open your Pictures folder? What do you see when you click on "Photos Library" in this folder. You access iCloud drive, etc., by logging in to iCloud.com using your Apple ID. Your iCloud should be in the far left column of Finder. Failing that, You should find iCloud in System Preferences.

Open System Preferences from either the dock or from the dropdown under the Apple logo.

This shows all of the items that I have elected to go to the cloud. Note the minus sign in Photos. This is because all my photos go to an external drive.


Click on Options to see what you send or can send to the Cloud. Immediately below this display, you should see a 'progress bar' that tells you how much is stored in the cloud. Hope this helps.
