In iOS 12, If I misspelled a word and I wanted to edit it, I would press and hold on the word and move the blue line until it fell between two letters.

Now, in iOS 13, if I do this it selects and highlights the entire word.

There's no way to select which part of the word I want to amend.

(I could move the left and right blue lines but it is tedious and too long winded).

I have to delete the word and type it again.

This is true for all apps.

iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 13

Have you used Keyboard as trackpad?

Press and hold the spacebar and move around anywhere. The GIF below is for Notes app but is valid for messages and all apps that use keyboard
