I lost my iphone

My lost iPhone reads offline when I try locating it using Find my iPhone.What could that mean??Can I still track it using IMEI number??

Offline means it doesn't have internet access. One reason for that would be if it doesn't have power (turned off or battery dead). There isn't any way to track it by IMEI.
