Left my imac on overnight and woke up to this loading screen on sat
First few times it continued loading to thus screen. Combination of different colours each time
Today I tried googling and managed to get it into recovery but realised I haven't been backing up my machine.
Is there anything else I can try? Thought it was GPU problem but it loaded fine on recovery.

The good news is, most cases like this have a solution & can get your mac up and running again! The bad news... Being as you haven't backed up your iMac, I can't guarantee that you will have access to what was on it. It will be like starting fresh.
