what is the oldest year imac that catalina can be uploaded on?

Looking to buy a used iMac for my wife, but want one that will run newer OS for the next 3-5 years, what is the oldest I can trust?

iMac Line (2012 and Later)

For Catalina, 2012. Nobody on these boards will know what the requirements for future OS versions will be.
