Completely turn off airplay on iPhone 7 plus

One of the conference rooms in my office building has an Apple TV that my phone keeps trying to connect to on its own. After a few seconds, it will say failed to connect but it will continue to try throughout the day. This is especially annoying because I like to listen to music using AirPods while I work. As soon as I hit play, the phone will disconnect from the AirPods while it attempts to connect to the Apple TV, then I have to wait for it to finish trying to connect and manually reconnect my AirPods from the Bluetooth menu in settings. I'm also kind of worried it will eventually succeed in connecting and my phone will end up mirrored on the screen in the middle of someone's meeting.

Is there a way to completely turn off AirPlay or whatever features is doing this?

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 12

No, not my knowledge. You can submit this request/suggestion to Apple directly, using this link:—> https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Thanks, I actually checked out this article already. Since the phone never actually successfully connects to the TV, I never have to go into the control panel to disconnect it. I'm just wondering if there is a way to disable the AirPlay feature altogether so that the phone doesn't even find AirPlay devices to connect to. Similar to how you can turn off Bluetooth altogether, as opposed to just disconnecting the Bluetooth device
