Restore mail in Time Machine

I accidently blew away all the mail in my wife's account. It was stored on the computer, evidently, I thought that IMAP stored it on the server.

How do I efficiently use Time Machine to locate the missing mail from her Time Machine backup. Which folder is it stored in?

Mail and Time Machine How do I get to Mail from Time Machine to restore 1 e-mail that was deleted? When I turn on Time Machine all I see is finder. I use to be able to have Mail open and Time Machine would leave Mail open and I could search back to a date. And yes, i've been in my backup disc, what a joke looking for that needle.

Go to Finder menu > Go > Go to folder and copy & paste this file path:

~/Library/Mail/V5

(Or use whatever V folder has the highest number.)

Then launch Time Machine interface and click on Restore.
