how to remove lkysearchds1503-a.akamaihd.net from my search browser

Hi,

Somehow lkysearchds1503-a.akamaihd.net is set as my default browser and its not letting me edit or remove to make any other option as default. I removed all possible malware extensions but still the browser default is not changing.

Need communities help to remove this malware. I thought apple products are not easy to get infected.

Hello Sukwaria,

First check Sys Prefs>Extensions for something new.

EtreCheck is a simple little app to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. It is meant to be used with Apple Support Communities to help people help you with your Mac.

Pastebin is a good place to paste the whole report...

Or use the paperclip at the bottom of a Reply to attach the full report here. :)

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck.

There is also free Malwarebytes which may take care of it...

If your browser prefs are locked down, you'll probably find the reason in System Preferences > Profiles.

Remove all profiles you don't recognize, then run something like DetectX to clear out the persistence agents.

Disclaimer: DetectX is a utility I develop; you do not need to pay for it to use it to use it. It does not collect your data or require any form of subscription/login.
