MacOS upgrade
hi. this is my first time upgrading my mac to another OS. Will I lose all of the programs I currently have installed or will they remain on my Mac once I load the new MacOS?

It will only update the operating system your applications and data will be okay. At least, they should be. But if you don't have a backup then I would wait until I did before upgrading. You are never safe without a backup.
