Apple tv 4K bluetooth connect Turtle Beach Stealth 700

I ant to know if there’s a way to output audio as Bluetooth on Apple tv 4K and to hear surround sound ( Dolby Digital or DTS) through my capable surround gaming headset. I have a surround system but the noise cancellation makes the film’s audio that much more real if I can have it in any surround mode, while completely blocking audio from the outside world. I know the Xbox app store gives you an option to buy Dolby Access but assume that’s only if you’re using the Xbox to watch the series/movie on. Just want to know if I can connect Apple tv 4K audio & Turtle Beach Stealth 700 headset wirelessly via Bluetooth . Thanks.

Bluetooth doesn’t support regular multichannel, just stereo. Advanced (virtual) multichannel woud have to be mixed in the stereo stream, or use a custom codec, which would need a special amplifier (or app) that will do that step. As such, this feature is not supported by the the Apple TV box directly.

Uncompressed multichannel PCM (7.1) is about 6144 kbps, way too much for transmitting directly to the headphones. Better suited for HDMI cables.

Do you know if 7.1 capable headphones like these (Turtle Beach Stealth 700) can process uncompressed surround sound? I recall it being Dolby Atmos capable but only if you bought an app from Microsoft called Dolby Access. Not sure if I just set output on Apple tv to PCM, so the device does the decoding, then the headphones just playback the audio in some manner.
