I understand there is an app downloadable from the App store which prevents malware. What is the name of this malware for an apple iPhone8?

You do not need any
iOS / iPadOS devices cannot be hacked or infected with Virus / Malware / Spyware, unless you have intentionally downloaded spurious softwares or unauthorised apps directly from internet and installed on your device or/and have Jail Broken.
