iTunes freezes when ejecting iPod Nano 7th Gen

I have an iPod Nano 7th Gen. iIt works fine except that when I try to eject it from iTunes (up-to-date version, Windows 10, and up to date iTunes) using the eject icon, it freezes iTunes and I have to reboot to get out of it. It does NOT freeze the iPod. It seems to play nicely with iTunes other than the eject function. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
