How do I remove searchinterneat-a.akamaihd.net

My google chrome has suddenly started redirecting to yahoo and searchinterneat-a.akamaihd.net. I can't remove it from my google chrome settings and it also says my personal mac book is being managed (which it shouldn't be). This isn't an issue on my safari. I've tried 3 different malware scans (admittedly the free ones that got good reviews) and none have been able to remove it. I've gone through my google chrome extensions and nothing looks suspicious.

Does anyone know how to:

  1. remove searchinterneat-a.akamaihd.net
  2. and not have my personal computer managed?

Thanks in advance!

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14

Scan your Mac for Malware:

Malware (Malicious Software)is malicious software that makes your device(MacBook Pro) act in a mislead-manor.  Malwarebytes is reliable cyber security for Macs, being that is developed by longtime-users of these forums, and has free, daily updates. So, download it, update it daily, using in on a consistent, daily basis.

Downloads:

  1. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac
  2. Malwarebytes uninstaller

You can try to reset Google Chrome's settings.

  • Open Chrome, click the More (⁝) icon in the top right-hand part of the window, and select Settings in the drop-down
  • When on the Settings pane, select Advanced
  • Scroll down to the Reset settings section. Under the Restore settings to their original defaults option, click the Reset settings button
  • Confirm the Chrome reset on a dialog that will pop up. When the procedure is completed, relaunch the browser and check if the issue still persist

You can also try to re-install chrome.

What to Do:

Switch to Mozilla Firefox. Rid of Google Chrome and All Security Software. Keep Malwarebytes installed.

  • Rid of Any and All Security Apps from your Mac. None are needed, as they just get in the way. Just use Malwarebytes. As I said, it is developed by longtime-users of these forums, and has free, daily updates, thus making it safe for Mac Usage.

  • Rid of Google Chrome from your Mac As Well: Google tracks you and saves your cookies, sharing it when and where you go. With Google Chrome no longer bing on your Mac, the case of [the site in your post's title] getting in the way would be solved, I'm sure.
  1. Uninstall: Google Chrome
  2. Restart: your Mac
  3. Use: Safari and Mozilla Firefox***

  • ***Use Mozilla Firefox (Found in the App Store): Mozilla Firefox would be the way to go. It now has Fingerprinters, which avoids your fingerprints from being added. site-to-site.
