Find my friends display name

How do I change the name that displays to others in find my friends. It is currently a very embarrassing email that used to be my Apple ID. I have changed my Apple ID but it still shows in find my friends and under my account name on my phone. Help!

Sounds like you did not change your Apple ID.

Sign out of your old Apple ID
Read carefully and follow the instructions to the T here: Change your Apple ID - Apple Support (Do not create a new Apple ID)
