Can I do this. I’m using old ipad2 to control my tv. I’ve set my screen to turn off at 2 minutes. When I need to operate the tv after that I hit the Home button and the slide to unlock screen comes up. This is an unnecessary and clumsy step I would like to eliminate.
Also, is there a way to shorten the 2 minutes to 1 minute?

“Slide to Unlock” is a system feature of earlier versions of iOS - and as such cannot be disabled. Newer versions of iOS (and subsequent iPadOS) replaced this system feature.
For recent versions of iOS, the setting that controls the auto-lock timing is accessed here:
Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock
Your earlier version of iOS will have a similar setting - the exact location within the Settings “tree” I’m unable to confirm as I don’t now have access to any devices with iOS predating iOS 12.x. That said, now armed with this information, you should be able to locate the setting.

I’ve been unable to find that in the older iOS. In the newer one it’s replaced with two home presses. If someone knows where it is please comment. I’ve looked in all the usual places and if it’s there I’ve missed it.
