13" MacBook Air early 2015 battery

Why is my battery discharging so quickly? I had it fully charged, then took it to a 2-hr. workshop where it slept, clamshell closed and unplugged, because I didn't end up needing it. I turned it off and drove home. When I turned it on there, it let me log in and then the screen went black. I plugged it in for 1/2 hr. and now it's up to 99%. This has been happening frequently. I have the energy saver preferences set to minimize drainage. System information says the battery has been through 532 cycles and needs servicing. The Apple site said it's rated for 1000. Why is it dying so young? Thanks.
