Enable iCloud Photos.
This will upload your Media to iCloud and store a smaller version of it on your phone, freeing up space on your physical device.
Go to Settings > Photos > iCloud photos.
Also make sure you have enough iCloud storage
To increase space available, go Settings/Your Name/iCloud/Photos and select Optimize iPhone/iPad Storage. That will reduce the space required by about 90% when fully effective.
