I find that saving files is very slow....

I recently moved up from a 2013 MBPro to a brand new 2019 16" MBPro, both have SSD drives.

I feel like the new computer is very slow when saving files out of applications like Illustrator, much slower than before.

Does anyone have any thoughts on why this might be? I would think that an SSD that is twice as large with half the years of crud built up would be much faster than what I'm seeing.

I did download and run Blackmagic and I seem to be getting consistent read/write speeds in the 2500-2800 MB/s range.

Any help is much appreciated.

To get a good look at your System config. for conflicts or issues, you can run this trusted utility http://etrecheck.com

If you need help interpreting the report you can post it here in its entirety in the "Additional Text" box in the editing toolbar below, in your reply.

You can set its preference to "Allow full Disk Access", with this you get a digest of issues from the last 7 days that are saved in your system.
