Dark mode - Screen flashes when awaken

Hello people.

I just upgraded my phone to iPhone 11 Pro Max. Im quite happy with the upgrade so far except for this issue.

When I “raise to wake” my phone, the screen flashes very quickly and turn back to normal. If I would to describe it, it is like going from 0 to 100% white max brightness on every pixel then gradually goes back to normal screen. This only happen when my phone is on Dark mode. Not on automatic. If I leave automatic dark mode on this issue would go away. Is this is a hardware issue or software? Do other people have this issue? Or just my phone?

I have iOS 13.3.1 on my phone.

Hello Aziz4499,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! From your message I understand that you're noticing a change in there display when you use the raise to wake feature with Dark Mode enabled on your iPhone 11 Pro Max.

You've done a nice job isolating the issue by determining that it's not occurring in Automatic dark mode. If you haven't already done so, Restart your iPhone. Once restarted test and see if the issue is still occurring.

If it is still occurring create a backup of your iPhone data: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Once the backup is complete, the next step will be to connect your iPhone to a computer and reinstall the iOS on your iPhone by following the steps in this article: If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Be sure that when you get to step 4 of this article be sure to select Update. This will allow the computer to try to reinstall the iOS without erasing your personal data.

a simple restart did the trick. I’m sorry I didn't post a solution on how i fixed it. I think the bug is in turning the invert setting on and off. Anyway. Just shut down your phone and let it rest for a minute. Turn it back on and hopefully it work. Good luck.

Thank you sir the reply. I have done that and worked for a while. This morning, the annoying flash is back. I did follow your instructions again but no luck this time. I really love the device but this flashing thing and making me lose it. I tried capturing the screen and this is what i see when locking and unlocking the phone

i have the same issue, it happens when i enable Smart Invert by mistake. I dont want to Reinstall IOs on my device. any solution?
