Hmm, I've seen lyrics in the score (I do not use the score myself) and it would not make sense that a lyric would be repeated on every page. I'll look in the manual for you.
Found it rather quickly:
For you it may be obvious, but I never heard the term "rehearsel letters" before. So what are they?
My first tip is to use markers. I use them for lyrics and chords (the markers follow the playhead). You could also use the Note Pad, but that doesn't follow the playhead.
a text object is anchored by measure position ( not notes). Exceptions are if you anchor it to the Top, Free, Header, Side or Footer margins. These have the ability to be repeated or not on per page basic based on the setting in the event list. Please post a pic of your event inspector in the score ( example attached). I suspect you are using one of these by mistake.
If you are dragging the text object in.. drag if from the left to the right - not from the top as it may attach/anchor to the Top, Free or Header zones.
Rehearsal Letters are letters that are used to signal players where you want to start from in a rehearsal . Letter A or letter C. Or even Intro. They appear above a measure. Like B to signal measure 17 or bridge. Thnx, LewT
Lyrics go under the melody. Rehearsal letters/numbers go above the measure. I need to find out how to enter the letter/number on just one page and not have it come up in every page in the same location. Thnx again, LewT
I assume this is what you are trying to achieve.....
Yes. But I find that in entering the Rehearsal letters into the score above a blank measure does not work. The letter entry goes to a noted measure and is repeated in the score in various places. If you try to enter notes in the score in a blank measure it does not work either. It seems the the text or the note entry need a note or something to hang on to. Is there a way to remedy this? Thnx, LewT
I don't get Rehearsal Mar.... in myText window as shown in the screen shot. I don't really understand what you are saying. I appreciate your help and I hope I can get this resolved so my work flow can be moveing along at a proffesional rate. Thanks so much, LewT
I don't know what u mean by attributes. I try to enter notes on the blank measures, rehearsal letters also. The notes don't go into the measures. The rehearsal Letters can go but they go on to every page, odd, even etc. What I can do is put a note in a blank measure in a part, in an instrument part, in the score window under the tracks window, then go back and erase the entered note in the score. I think there must be a better way to do it. LewT
Have you actually grabbed this object?
Part 2. Markers will not put it in the score or parts for print out.
If you want them in the score you should enter them as Lyrics there.
If I enter a letter via the Text tool above say measure 11, the start of the piece, it appears on all 20 pages of the arrangement. All I want is on page 1.
I tried using the lyric command, but if I put an A in above measure 11 it comes up un all 20 pages of the arrangement. How can I get it to just come upon page 1? Anybody know? Thnx, LewT
Sorry but that makes no sense to me, to have a lyric repeated on each page? I'll look into it.
