On my new iPhone 11 pro I am getting the “unable to verify this iPhone has a genuine apple display” message. It locks the phone and I can’t do anything, even turn it off. A hard forced close worked briefly but the msg came back.the iOS is 13.1.3. Can anyone help while we’re on vacation in Africa?

If a Force Restart does not help, there may be some sort of manufacturing defect which would be covered by warranty, but is of little consolation to you right now. Given the warranty is not worldwide, even if by sheer miracle you were to find an Apple Store out there, they might be loath to solve the issue.

It hasn’t had service, been damaged or opened.
