How do I solve this error, ".... will damage your computer, You should move it to the Bin (Trash)"?

I am getting mixed answers from the internet. Some say this is malware others say its Mac OS update. I have ran two anti-malware tools and shows nothing. So thinking it is a Mac OS issue. Whenever I open certain files I get, "(__insert app__) will damage your computer. You should move it to the Trash."

MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.14

Hard to say when "insert app" is all we know. If the "app" is one from a a major developer like Apple, Adobe, Microsoft, Mozilla, etc, then it likely is a scam/adware message. If the app listed is questionable, or you got it from a unscrupulous download hosting site or a torrent, then that could be a legitimate Apple warning.
