I’m using python 3.8.1 on my MacBook Air updated to Catalina. It used to work perfectly, all over sudden the IDLE is not opening. Can someone help me ?

When you first double-click the IDLE icon in /Applications/Python 3.8.1/IDLE, you will get a dialog that it wants access to your Documents folder. If you did not agree, you may be blocked from launching it as it did not get entered into the Systems Preferences : Security & Privacy panel : Privacy tab : Files and Folders settings:

If it did, and that Documents Folder remains unselected, then all subsequent double-clicks of the IDLE application will do nothing very briefly launch and quit IDLE. When Documents Folder is selected as shown in the preceding image, a double-click of IDLE will open the application window as expected.

This is just some unexplainable macOS nonsense, and does not mean that Python3 development must be done in the Documents folder.
