My friend's iPhone X battery is draining about 40 percent faster than it did before she updated to iOS 13.3.1 on 02/13/2020. I've been using 13.3.1 on my iPhone 8 since it was released to the public and I've not noticed the issue.

No app is using the battery all day long. That’s the problem. I have a brand new iPhone 11 and the first few weeks were I ended the day with 75-85% battery. After iOS 13.3.1, I’m lucky if it’s not dead with less than 1hr screen on and 45m screen off.
Thank you for your response, ChrisJ4203. I failed to mention in my post that I'd conducted the prerequisite troubleshooting such as what you mentioned. Nothing in Settings>Battery suggests anything different than prior to the update. One other thing that I found out subsequent to my post is that she doesn't restart her iPhone very often. It may not have been restarted since the restart required by the update. Personally, I've found that all "end-user" operating systems benefit from a daily reboot. I advised her to restart her phone and to restart it in the morning after a full charge. I'll check with her tomorrow afternoon/evening to see if there's any improvement. I'll respond if there seems to be improvement.
The she needs to go to Settings>Battery and see what app or process is using the highest percentage of battery and start troubleshooting there.
I am having the same problem. Apple service Center iOS restored my 8plus but no improvement. It consuming 3% per hour. Even if it turned off.
Okay. Daily restarts are not really necessary, just an occasional one is fine. But you are correct, there should be one after any update. If she continues to have problems, come on back.
My phone now dies at 50% with this ios update. Apple support claims the battery magically went bad overnight. This is a scam by Apple to force users to buy new phones.
Killing apps and rebooting is not helpful. I have a suspicion it’s something with Bluetooth not “disconnecting“ when I shut off head phones.
