Snapshot hangs doing video screen recording

I've not been able to make a screen recording movie with the new snapshot app in Catalina. I can start the recording but the controls then disappear so there is no way to push the stop recording button as per the help file. If I click on Snapshot icon it tells me the app is not responding. All I can do at that point is restart MacOS. I'm running the current MacOS Catalina 10.15.3

Never mind, I'm as blind as bat sometimes. It works perfectly as long as you know where the stop button is displayed in the menu bar.
