When inserting my sim card for the iphone 11 it is not reading my sim card? why

Verify the SIM card isn't upside down. Also, is your phone designed for the carrier that you intend to use? Try installing the sim, and restarting your phone. Make sure Airplane Mode is off. If none of that helps, you will need to bring your sim and iPhone to your carrier, and have them check it out.
